D2DH


Welcome to the "Devon 2 Dads house" blog

**Update - Ride successfully completed between Monday 11th September 2018 and Sunday 16th 2018 **
Total of 382 miles in 7 days with over £2000 raised for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

In mid September 2018 following the National Cycle network routes 3 -> 4 -> 223 -> 2 -> 20 Clive will take a few days to cycle from Bideford, Devon to Haywards Heath, W.Sussex in the UK. The target is to rase about £5 a mile for the approximate 300 miles of the trip.

Why ?

  • I like to ride my bike out in the countryside and the NCN provides a joined up route across the country.
  • Raising funds for Alzheimers Research is important for all of us.
  • For 17 years I weekly car commuted from Devon to Reading and on to Haywards Heath to see Dad and now I have the time to change down a gear and really enjoy the journey.

Bike preparation pictures before and after

Bike preparations for D2DH have been progressing and it's nearly ready for the ride. From the stock bike the following additions : mud guards, front bag, rear carrier, double panniers (Thanks Jenny), lock and carrier, centre bag, new saddle, larger treaded tyres, rear light. Side stand was upgraded after troubles with first one. Last items now added are a front light and behind saddle bottle carrier to be all ready.
